About
Born from an absolute devotion to wool and the animals that grow it for us. Possibly the oldest fiber known to humans, our relationship with wool and sheep is ancient. My ancestors were shepherds, stewarding the land by tending to the sheep. I step into their path.
Wool is magic. Antimicrobial, biodegradable, breathable, odor resistant, stain-resistant, warming and cooling (depending on body temperature).
Wool is a powerful spiritual agent. With a frequency of 5,000 millihertz (mHz), which is 50 times higher than the natural frequency of the human body, some say that wool's high frequency can energize the wearer on a vibrational level.
All Western Wool pieces are reverentially hand felted using wool sourced from Oregon and Washington.
Working with wool as raw as possible, slight shedding is natural and normal. Do not brush collars. To refresh curls after getting wet, use a wide tooth comb and comb gently. Witch hazel and essential oils can be spritzed onto collars as well for refreshing curls. Washing is unnecessary. Spot clean and air dry lining and vests as needed.
